Vorwerk Post

Elia Panori: Vorwerk

the exhibition

Are we in search of a goal, or of its fruits?
The question arises from an innate feeling, so ingrained as to connect matter to its shell. What I find is not and will not be its absolute form, over time the shell of expectation is scratched, it crumbles, revealing many aspects without a rationale, revealing mystery. Building embryos from this bubble of emptiness, in which thought perceives the lack of information, I see a dispersed cosmos with foreign references. I need no other vision to explain the intellectual dispersion of a mind in constant refutation than the classic eggs of the animal world. They are an excellent deposition, an openly declared harangue on the transience of belief.

A quail egg, once hatched from the inside, no longer belongs to that animal, but will give a talking version of the shell, with exact colour and shape. The same cannot be said of the ostrich egg; it is not consistent with its animal counterpart.
Although one can recognise a variety in the ways in which procreation acts, I was able to stop it, like an immobile image in space. Preserving doubt and making reality an immovable conception has generated another kind of evolution, less conscious, freer from the general pre-established pattern.

artist

artworks

Fantasising about the likelihood of a hypothetical empty being, a seed so alive that it imposes itself on motionless eternity, reflects the desire to break down the entire life process into various segments and the motives built up in the course of approaching the individual's ‘maturity’. (To add the part about returning to the original, hence unbroken egg)

Lynette Reed: Reflections in duality

the exhibition

Invito_Numphaion

Numphaion

the exhibition

Young Art Hunters, a Milan-based company that has always been committed to the promotion and
dissemination of young and emerging art, reconfirms its collaboration with
the Hotel Piccolo Lido again this year and for the occasion presents: Numphaion.

'To women the land, to men the sea', it has always been said.
This notion has perpetuated the idea that women are mainly involved in
in agriculture and rarely in maritime activities. Ships and boats, in fact, are
long been considered a purely male domain. For centuries it was believed
even that having women on board was bad luck, since it was thought that
distract the sailors from their intended course, drawing parallels with the
mythical Mermaids.

Yet, Greek mythology itself teaches us how much the female figure and
the water element are complementary, telling us about different and multiple
female water deities, starting with Talassa, the primordial goddess of the
sea, followed by a line of Nereids and Oceanines, her daughters and granddaughters. Also the
history is studded with female characters who challenged gender roles and
have left a significant mark, such as the Spanish flagship Isabel
Barreto and the pirates Grace O'Malley, Anne Bonny, Mary Read and Ching Shih.

Numphaion takes a courageous course and sails towards gender equality.
Through the centuries-old tale and myth of the Ligurian lands, undertaken from the point
view of eight emerging artists in the exhibition, the intention is to make the
public on the role of the modern woman, recognised as such, ready to
finally achieve social emancipation and rejoin those
fantastic and real that brought female power to the mouth of the
men.

Venuses Annett Gioia Post

Venuses

the exhibition

The essence

Fabio Ingrosso

wood, ground, essences

var. 180x120x120cm

on request

The essence is an evocative work that manifests itself as a scented wooden door emerging from a mound of earth. This door, however realistic and tangible, is useless: it cannot be opened. It appears in space as an island in the middle of a barren land, a destination at the end of an inner journey in search of self and essence. The door to 'the essence' is a metaphor for the existential journey. It represents the effort and commitment invested in the construction of a self that, in the end, remains inaccessible. The journey to discover the mechanisms of life is similar to wandering the sea and the land under the endless sky, day and night. It is an odyssey that requires one to go beyond the senses, to attempt to open an impossible door. In the space where the door emerges, the barren land suggests a destination reached after a long wandering. Yet, this door that stands before us, which we may have built ourselves with great effort, cannot be opened. This impossibility raises a profound question: does an essence really exist? Or is it all a mirage, an invention of our mind in search of meaning? A scent emanates from the wood of the door, a natural essence that permeates the surroundings. This smell is intense yet ephemeral, suggesting a presence that is both real and elusive. Perhaps, the essence we seek is not something to pass through or possess, but simply to perceive. Perhaps it is just an intangible scent.he essence sfida lo spettatore a riflettere sul significato della ricerca interiore.

The Cast-aways sculpture series explores the theme of the sinking of a natural form through the use of lead. These works are castings of pieces of branches, transformed into reliefs projecting a few centimetres. Presented flat and slightly raised, the sculptures cast a shadow or darkness beneath them, creating a visual effect of depth and weight. Lead, with its density and rough appearance, is used to evoke gravity and force that pull the branches downwards, like inert bodies adrift. This aesthetic choice is not only a visual reminder, but a tangible representation of the shipwreck of a natural form, which loses its lightness and vitality under the weight of metal. Cast-aways is a visual meditation on disintegration and loss of form. The sculptures invite the viewer to reflect on the fragility of nature and its ability to change under the influence of time and the elements. This series, with its powerful materiality, offers a profound reflection on shipwreck as an existential condition.

Breaking up/apart

Fabio Ingrosso

wood, iron

140x60x50cm

To leave, to disperse. Composed of two parts, one in wood and one in iron, this work represents two entities that separate and disintegrate. The wooden part is a trunk that, rotten on the inside, has been burnt on the damaged side, leaving the other side with its natural colouring. The trunk, twisted and disorganised, vulnerable and fragile, emerges from the combustion of lived experience. The iron part, made of welded and electrode-burned sheet metal, is patinated black on the inside. The blackened surface and rough appearance of the sheet metal contrast with the strength and hardness of the iron, suggesting a similar duality of strength and weakness, suffering. The two parts, placed opposite each other, are mirrored in form, like two separate halves that move apart but remain linked by a profound visual and conceptual bond. Both halves show the burnt side to the other, revealing their own scars and vulnerability, the fire that united them. It is a silent dialogue between two forms, two souls, two flames that have met, loved and burnt together, and that now disperse in space and time. Breaking up/apart is a reflection on separation and disintegration. The sculpture represents the pain and beauty of loss, the transformation that occurs when two once united entities break apart, taking with them the traces of their meeting and burning. It is a meditation on the complex nature of relationships.

Purple Rain

the exhibition

O Osiride, toro dell’Amenti!

Biography

Originally from Mexico City, Maite Agahnia, attributes her way of seeing the world around her to moving between different countries, languages, and cultures throughout her life. Equally fluent in her artistic practice, Agahnia works in a variety of media: printmaking, painting, photography, and encaustic. She focuses on creating hybrid combinations of the various materials, giving her art unique and unexpected qualities. Agahnia’s work in graphic design and photography is evident in her paintings. Incorporating the structure of graphic design and photography in contrast to the freedom of abstraction, her work examines the relationship between the two. This exploration of balance and harmony is the cornerstone of the artist’s studio practice. Fresh and exciting, Agahnia’s art is rich in layers of color, shapes, and texture. From her constant exploration of new materials to her unusual juxtapositions of structure and abstraction, Agahnia’s work is both original and compelling. Her work has been commissioned by several commercial developments including Rancho Valencia Resort in California and First Service Residential in New York.

Biography

Maria Orfano was born the 25th August 1995 in Arona, a small town on Lake Maggiore. In 2020 she completed her scientific formation obtaining a master's degree in civil engineering, at Politecnico di Milano. In her early adolescence she started to be interested in painting as a self-taught artist and she carried out a sporadic pictorial activity, whose main themes were still lifes and landscapes. In August 2020, after what she herself defines as "a sort of epiphany", she decided to completely overturn her approach to art, so she started to create works through the use of commonly used objects, combined with studs, which are the main trait of her new poetics. Thus the new personality of Acrylicneeds was born. Her main purpose is to show a distorted vision of nature, in order to create contrasts and to overturn the concept of the object. The main themes addressed by the artist are loneliness of human beings, existential distress and the desire for isolation from the outside world. With a provocative attitude, the compositions of Acrylicneeds want to invite to introspection, asking the viewer to change the point of view with respect to reality.

Biography

Martyna Pietrasik is a Polish artist whose research is mainly developed through painting. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow and currently works in Milan, where she settled after studying art for a year at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts. Martyna grew up surrounded by nature and this has constantly influenced her art, inspiring colours and shapes. Nature is one of the main protagonists of her works together with the body figure, which has always been strongly connected with it and committed to a perpetual return to its origins. His experience with anorexia strongly intensified his interest in the depiction of his own body and its biological structure, always associating it with the natural element, so that organic forms can merge into botanical and natural ones, and vice versa. The mostly abstract shapes with their saturated and intense colours melt into an extremely dreamlike landscape, taking us on a journey to the edge of reality.

Biography

Thomas Pagani Aka Rinkaku, was born in Milan in 1997. He graduated from the Boccioni art school in Milan in painting and sculptural techniques and continued his studies following a digital game design path at the Event Horizon School. He created a series of interactive projects with Team SolEtude, winning the “Best Italian Debut Game” award at the Italian Video Game Awards, and finally arriving at the Event Horizon School as a tutor. He later dedicated himself to analog photography with a work focused on the exploration of the spaces of Milan in search of lights that give a feeling of peace and detachment from the increasingly rapid and suffocating rhythms of modern everyday life, seeing this research as a form of personal and social reportage that aims to analyze an alternative possibility to the experience of the modern world. He currently works in a personally built darkroom within Studio Abraxas.

Biography

Natalia Martìnez was born in Burgos, Spain. She studied Art Restoration in her hometown, completing her studies in Fashion Design in Milan, the city where she settled for a period of her life. Through her experience in fashion, she became interested in different textile materials from an alternative perspective: ribbons obtained from cut fabric. The union of her passion for tailoring and her previous studies led her to a love for precision and repetitive manual work, as well as increasing the importance of color in processes. Thus was born her passion for masks, an object that has been present since the dawn of humanity. Her works are created through the crochet technique, which she wanted to elevate to a more complex and free level, getting rid of the consolidated flat patterns with traditional and natural fibers to give life to the possibility of improvisation, transforming the flat knit into three-dimensional with a sculptural approach through ribbons, fibers and hardware materials, considered less noble and waste. This experimentation with the technique led her to the study of irregular and intangible faces. Her work is approached with the precision of the profession and the utmost spontaneity, bringing her into a dimension that combines art and craftsmanship.

Like silicon, whose polymorphic chemical composition can take on different connotations depending on perception and the surrounding environment, so the eleven artists in the exhibition address the themes of mystical and physical transformism, developing, just as in the story 'The Metamorphosis', a reflection towards the identification of the problems of contemporary man; such as: the inability of dialogue between people, the incommunicability of one's own needs and the exile of the different.

The exhibition thus aims to open a dialogue towards a social condition where one's personal identity is annihilated as a function of homologation to the workforce, and where alienation takes hold both in today's society and in the family context, creating real mutations in physics and thought.

Biography

Ylenia Pigozzo was born in Como in 1988. Her artistic persona Ipsilonpi, on the other hand, only took shape in 2011, when for the first time, in a completely subconscious way, she creates her first work. From that moment, a long experimentation began, through various techniques and different materials, but always with an abstract style. Her paintings are made of textures, colors, feelings and stories, tales of souls and travels born from the need to express her feelings as a traveller, especially in this historical period of disconnection from nature. After a very intense personal moment, the painter feels the urgency of sharing her art, until then kept only for herself to channel all her energies into a project that is entirely personal. Thus the itinerant 'ipsilonpi studio' was born in January 2022, an idea that very much reflects her philosophy of life, and that she aims to use to collaborate with artists from all over the world. Her art is for travellers and to remind that one doesn’t necessarily have to be a connoisseur to be part of the artistic sphere.

Biography

Cristian Iacono (2002, Naples) is a photographer currently based in Rome and enrolled in the Photography and Video course at the Roman Academy of Fine Arts. His photographic research is based on the desire to portray subjects he believes to be a projection of himself, in such a way as to analyze how his reflections which are inserted within pristine realities devoid of human presence. The scenarios become self-sufficient realities capable of underlining the proposed message.Places of the soul and psyche. The atmospheres are melancholy and create images with a sense of necessity and pain masked through an aesthetic with attention to detail, romantic and pure. Photography thus becomes the means through which to relive and rework parts of his past, as if to represent a continuous journey within himself.

Biography

Marta Grimoldi is a photographer who graduated from the European Institute of Design in Milan in 2012. Since then she has always worked on her own for small web newspapers and for private individuals, at the same time she actively participated as an artist in events in the Como area. She carries out projects that concern her personal experience; Passionate about art since she was a child, she then studied at the Terragni art high school in Como where she came into contact with photography, a means of her, for her, to give vent to her imagination. At 17 she borrowed her father's analog camera and started taking photos: photography has always been a means of freely communicating her ideas. After a trip that lasted months in Spain, she realizes that she wanted to talk more with herself through photography, something personal. In her opinion, in fact, the silence and ritual behind every single personal shot is magical. She attended a course with Simona Ghizzoni and Cristina Nunez. Later Ghizzoni, would become her tutor for the Ground
Glass project.

Biography

Mauro Valsecchi was born in Milan in 1992. He began his studies at the Enrico De Nicola Art School in Sesto San Giovanni, Milan. Subsequently he began a course of study in artistic disciplines at NABA, New Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, where he obtained a three-year degree in Fine Arts (B.A.), specializing in Painting and Visual Arts in 2014. He concluded his training at NABA with a specialist degree in Visual Arts and Curatorial Studies in 2018. His artistic research revolves around the perception of reality and the visions of everyday life which manifest themselves as imaginative projections; in his works he tries to bring back that wandering of vision with minimal lateral glances, to distract himself from the already completely interpreted world that he is watching, and find a thrill of perception that reopens every time, to let unusual images arise from accidental appearances that no one ever usually observes. All the drawings he produces do not have an illustrative imprint but maintain a strong relevance to realism. Over the years he has developed a particular drawing technique which involves the use of colored powders and pure pigments, which are pressed with tips or dragged with a smudge to mark the paper, finally fixed with a lacquer or a fixative spray. This technique makes it difficult to sketch subjects and places from life, so he made up for this technical complication by taking textual notes which then turned into drawings from memory. Finally, his need to give a three-dimensional body to these designed surfaces: to move the canonical point of view, to be able to go around them, to lower or tower over the user, to play with perception to fuel a vision. For this reason, drawings, texts, everyday objects and photographs often become sculptures, installations, which occupy other spaces besides that of the wall.

Biography

Born in Milan in 1988, he enrolled at the University of Milan where he obtained a three-year degree in

The area of investigation of his research revolves around the concept of transformation understood as a constant state of impermanence and insecurity. Federico's art is articulated through different mediums: sculpture, painting and alternative printing techniques in a repeated search for an aesthetics of extraneousness aimed at creating images that evoke an idea of distance from their surroundings. The concept around his works is the reflection of the human being in continuous relation to this state, elaborating images that are a reflection of habitual survival strategies. All the subjects he treats revolve around this conceptual core, recalling fossilised forms, excluded from becoming.

Biography

Marco Sperini was born in 1998 in Teramo. A self-taught painter, he began painting in an attempt to give shape to the dreams that tormented him. Over time he became fascinated by surrealism and psychoanalytic studies.
His painting hybridizes dreamlike forms with waking bodies, creating constructions that proliferate in a timeless space. His studies as a physiotherapist and osteopath not only allow him to further explore and study the body, but also act as a stimulus for a deeper exploration of the human condition. The synergy between his training in manual medicine and artistic training creates a representation of the body characterized by a profound complexity, far from "true" anatomy and mere scientific vision.

Hic Et Nunc

the exhibition

Young Art Hunters is proud to present 'Hic Et Nunc', the solo exhibition of artist Gianluca Ripepi. The exhibition is a journey through two series, Gesture-Colour and Mental Landscapes, both of which explore the fundamental theme of time.

The two series, although stylistically different from each other, blend perfectly in a Hic Et Nunc, in the 'here and now', allowing us to observe the moment before its change, in the gesture that has just ended or in a landscape that is waiting to blossom, again.

The Gesture-Colour series is resolved in a few gestural moments after the preparation of the palette, the Mental Landscapes, on the other hand, mature, evolve, change, oxidise and alter over time as in a real landscape, alluding to an alchemy between the various subjects.

The title Hic Et Nunc serves precisely to emphasise this theme, proposing to the viewer a journey in the fraction of a second in which the work remains motionless, imperturbable, clashing with the concept of evolution, allowing us to silently enter its world before it can destroy itself to recreate itself.

artist

Gianluca Ripepi, born in Domodossola in 1977, began his artistic career as a self-taught artist with the study of classical and Hellenistic sculpture. In 2009, he deepened his education by attending free courses at the Aldo Galli Academy in Como, getting closer and closer to abstract art and participating in several solo and group exhibitions since 2010.

Blooming Blood Post ufficiale

Blooming Blood

the exhibition

Flowing, dripping blood. Blood that takes the pain away with it, giving space to rebirth and blossoming, like the cycle of nature. Different stories of flows forced to remain silent, hidden and untold, now take their space to be able to express themselves without restraint, without secrets or fear of judgment.

artists

reportage

Blooming Blood is the union of two projects belonging to two different perspectives, united by feminine delicacy and a passion for analogic photographyLiving bodies that bleed in different contexts, are finally exposed and the flow is alive, natural and finally heard.
The exhibition, in collaboration with the Milano Photofestival, presents two penetrating visions on a dual topic concerning the menstrual cycle andself-harm.

To make these subjects elegant and at the same time intense, the two emerging photographers Alice Brizzi and Giulia Frumpworked together through analogic photography o give voice to testimonies, stories and depersonalized memories of their identities which until now could only remain in silence while now finally shout to the public the sensations they have experienced and continue to experience.

Biography

Aliceinshot, alias Alice Brizzi, a self-taught photographer, began taking photographs in 2020 with her father's Canon Ae1-program. Thanks to analogue photography, she discovered an interest that soon turned into a passion. Thanks to her introspective and narrative style, Alice manages to gain a following on the internet, thanks first to Instagram and then Youtube, through which he addresses her generation, trying to convey the beauty and preciousness of film photography. She finds his greatest expression in portraits, always trying to empathise with her subject and tell her story in an authentic and delicate way.
